Purple. What do you think of when you look at the color purple? Me? I think royalty, luxury, and expensive. Anyone else? I am a part of the Influenster community where they send you samples to test and write reviews. A few weeks ago the sent me the L’Oreal Paris Ever Pure Sulfate-free Brass Toning Shampoo and Conditioner to sample.
I have been a huge fan of a few other L’Oréal Ever Pure Shampoo and Conditioner sets. When they contacted me I was halfway through the L’Oreal Ever Pure Marula Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. I am also a big fan of purple shampoos to help with hair color in between salon visits.
My overall review of this product as a purple shampoo is...meh. It’s okay. After 4 washes, I really didn’t see or notice much of a difference. However, as a basic shampoo and conditioner, I didn’t mind it. To be fair, it may take more than 4 washes to see results? I don’t know. I will go in depth with my opinions though, in case you are still interested.

How to Use: Instructions directly from the information card that Influenster sent: Use 2-3 times a week Apply shampoo to wet hair and massage into lather. Rinse. Follow with Conditioner. Apply generously and leave on 2-5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
My Thoughts: It’s a gorgeous color! I love the very luxurious dark purple. It smells like the sandalwood candle from Bath and Body Works, which is nice. It lathers well and doesn’t leave hair feeling dry. It does a good job at making my hair feel clean. I REALLY wanted it to work as a toning shampoo & conditioner, but I didn’t notice any difference. I do plan on using the rest of the bottle though. Maybe it will work after a few more washes?
Would I recommend?: If you are looking for a purple shampoo that will give you immediate results, then no. However if you are looking for a good basic sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner that will clean your hair and may eventually help tone the brassiness by the time you finish the bottle, then yes!
Rating: Overall, I would give this product a solid 3 stars. It’s not a terrible shampoo and conditioner. It just doesn’t do what it claims to do as quickly as I would have expected.
